Events

Following the request by the States and Local Governments for the payment of outstanding Ground Rents and Tenement Rates owed by the defunct PHCN, the Honourable Minister of Power constituted an Inter-Agency Committee to review all claims, interface with the States and LGAs and recommend appropriate payment strategy.

The Committee was inaugurated by the Hon. Minister of Power on the 2nd June, 2020 and comprises of the following members.

The Bureau of Public Service Reform (BPSR) is and agency under the Presidency its mandates are to Initiate, Coordinate, Monitor and Evaluate implementation of reform programmes and policies, Conduct research on implementation efforts and present ‘best practice’ models for Ministries, Parastatals and agencies of government.

The agency which is headed by the Director General Mr, D.I.Arabi and his team visited NELMCO on Wednesday 12, Febuary,2020 to conduct and implement one of her programs called SAT (Self-Assessment Tools). NELMCO is the first Agency in the Power sector to avail itself of the test.

 

SAT is an automated on-line tool designed by BPSR team, It is used to ASSESS or Diagnose the current HEALTH of an organization, the program has the ability to eexamine the current STRENGTH and WEAKNESSES of an Organization and it also Addresses the Questions: Is the Organization Healthy, Performing Well and Achieving Value-for-Money?.

The exercise which lasted for two weeks ended with a good reputation for NELMCO as the Management of BPSR were impressed with the performance of NELMCO staff in providing solutions to the questions.
